Scottish Football

Pioneers

Football is the world’s game and in its early years was carried across the globe by pioneers who founded clubs, leagues and established firm foundations in every continent.

The ranks of these early trailblazers were inordinately stacked with Scots, characters like Archie McLean - the Scotsman who helped bring football to Brazil and Alexander Watson Hutton, who is regarded as ‘the father of Argentine football’.
